The Analog Comeback: Less Scrolling, More Living

Journaling.
Hands-on hobbies.
Time outdoors.
Bike rides.
Hikes.
Concerts in the park.
There’s something calling us back to experiences we can touch, feel, and be fully present for.

Maybe you’ve felt it, too.
The desire to put the phone down and feel a little more connected to your own life.

Welcome to ALLSMITH 111: One Story. One Reflection. One Invitation.
A moment to connect, a perspective to consider, and something to put into practice.

📖 1 Story

You know that moment when you reach for your phone without knowing what you’re looking for?
Waiting for coffee.
Sitting on the couch.
Standing somewhere beautiful.

A quiet moment shows up, and we fill it.
Then somehow, ten minutes disappear.

I understand the pull.
There’s always something to check, someone to answer, something to build.
Especially when you care deeply about what you’re doing.

But I keep coming back to this.
How much of the life we’re working so hard to create are we actually present enough to enjoy?

A conversation with someone we love.
The dogs reminding us it’s time to get outside.
A sunset that will never look quite like that again.

“Small moments. Easy to miss. Hard to get back.”
— Bryce Smith

💡 1 Tip

There’s something powerful about doing things you can feel.
Pen on paper.
Hands in the dirt.
Feet on a trail.
Making a meal and sitting down to enjoy it with someone.

These things give our attention somewhere to land.
Sometimes, that’s where we find a part of ourselves we haven’t heard from in a while.
The curious part.
The playful part.
The part that has ideas without needing an audience.

We spend so much time looking for inspiration that we forget to give ourselves space to notice what moves us.
What could you rediscover if your phone stopped filling every quiet moment?
Maybe a hobby you used to love.
A conversation you’ve been putting off.
Your own thoughts.

The analog comeback is an invitation to make room for those things again.
We train to build a body we trust.
We can practice being present enough to enjoy where that body takes us, too.

What good is building the capacity for a beautiful life if we keep scrolling through it?

🎯 1 Action

This week, give yourself twenty minutes with your phone out of reach.

  1. Put the phone out of reach
Twenty minutes. Let it feel a little awkward at first.

  2. Do something you can feel
Take a walk. Write a page. Cook something. Pick up that instrument collecting dust. Sit outside and let the world move around you.

  3. Hit reply
Tell me what you made room for. I’d love to hear what you’re finding.

Let it be simple.
You don’t have to capture it to make it count.

Stay on the hunt for who you’ve not yet become.

Love you guys.
