Your Life Is Full of Maybes

Where are you ghosting your own life?

One foot in, one foot out. Close enough to talk about that person, never committed enough to meet them.

I wonder how different our lives would look if our word carried more weight than our mood.
We say we want things.
A stronger body.
A deeper relationship.
A meaningful career.
A life that actually feels like ours.
And I think most of us mean it when we say it.That’s what makes this interesting.
Because somewhere between wanting the life and doing what the life requires, we start negotiating.
Maybe tomorrow.
I’ll see how I feel.
I’ll start again Monday.
And slowly, our lives become crowded with half decisions.
One foot in.
One foot out.

📖 1 Story

Your life is listening to your language.
I’ve noticed this pattern everywhere.
You skip the workout you promised yourself you’d do.
You abandon the project when nobody seems to notice.
Your nutrition disappears every weekend and Monday becomes another starting line.
You avoid the conversation because you know honesty will require something from you.
Even ghosting is rarely just about a text.
Sometimes avoidance is just wearing the clothes of being busy.

And listen, I understand busy.
Life gets loud.
Families need us.
Work piles up.
People get sick.
Grief shows up without asking permission.
Give people grace.
Give yourself grace.
But grace and accountability can sit at the same table.

“Commitment is staying true to what you said you would do long after the mood you said it in has left.”
— Bryce Smith

💡 1 Tip

Anybody can commit when they’re fired up.
Anybody can start Monday.
Anybody can chase the dream while people are cheering.
The real question is who you are when the feeling leaves.
Because it will.
Motivation fades.
Passion has seasons.
Your word is supposed to survive them.

Every rep is practice.
Every response is practice.
Every uncomfortable conversation is practice.
Every time you honor your word when nobody is watching, you’re building the person you’re trying to become.

Eventually life takes something from all of us.
Energy.
Money.
Health.
People we love.
But there are things life doesn’t get to take unless we hand them over.
Our character.
Our effort.
Our integrity.
Our word.

Every promise kept is evidence that you can trust yourself.

🎯 1 Action

Maybe the question isn’t why isn’t anyone responding to me.
Maybe it’s where am I ghosting my own life.

  1. Have the conversation
Respond to the thing you’ve been avoiding. Today.

  2. Keep one promise
Do the thing you said you would do, even without the mood that started it.

  3. Remember why
Go back to the reason you said yes in the first place.

Less maybe.
More meaning.
Not because you’ll always feel like it.
Because you said you would.

Stay on the hunt for who you’ve not yet become.
